Abstract
<PICT:0436511/IV/1> <PICT:0436511/IV/2> Spools 1, Fig. 1, of textile material with conical ends 2 are wound on a resilient core 3, such as that described in Specification 289,708, [Class 15 (i)], threaded on a wooden tube 4. The spools are then freed from their wooden cores and threaded in column form on a perforated telescopic tube 5, 8, Fig. 2, described in Specification 296,603, [Class 15 (i)], the spools being separated by flat discs 6<1>, 6<11> . . . carried by hollow sleeves 7 which project on both sides and fit into the ends of the spools 1. The spools are then compressed axially to crush the conical parts and form a cylindrical column, as shown in Fig. 2, which is subjected to treatment with a dyeing or washing liquor.
