Abstract

435,683. Electric-battery lamps. LEE, L. P., 3, Claverdale Road, Upper Tulse Hill, Brixton, London. Feb. 5, 1935, No. 3671. [Class 39 (ii)] [See also Group XXXVI] In a pocket torch wherein the casing containing the bulb and battery is provided with external sockets to receive the pins of a plug which supplies current direct from the battery to an auxiliary lamp at the end of a wandering lead, one of the sockets is provided by a hole in the side of a mounting for a sliding switch and is so arranged that the insertion of the plug pin p<1> locks the sliding portion of the switch in the " off " position, leaving the press-button free for flashing purposes only. The other socket D, Fig. 2, formed of bent strip metal enclosed within a strip of insulating material, is connected by a metal strip A to the positive pole of the battery and is adapted to receive a pin p on the plug P, which is curved to conform to the curvature of the battery casing.
