433,568. Sliding-latches. JARRED, H. A., 185, Tachbrook Road, Leamington Spa. May 14, 1934, No. 14504. [Class 44] A sliding-latch bolt is spring pressed in a lateral direction to prevent rattling. The rear end of the bolt b is engaged by a lever c pivoted at d. The other end of the lever c is spring pressed so that the bolt b is rocked about a point m into engagement with the catch piece l. The lateral pressure is relieved when the bolt is retracted by the rear end of the bolt engaging an inclined projection j. In a modification the lateral pressure is obtained by a spring-pressed dedent p and the bolt has an inclined surface r which slides on the casing s.
