Abstract

431,902. Projection lamps. DEHN, F. B., 103, Kingsway, London.-(Zeiss Ikon Akt.-Ges. ; 72, Schandauerstrasse, Dresden, Germany) Dec. 4, 1934, No. 34859. [Class 75 (iv)] In a kinematograph or like projection arc lamp, means are provided for observing the front of the crater of the positive carbon. Additional means may be provided for observing the carbons from the side. In the form shown, light rays from the crater of the positive carbon 1 pass through an unsilvered portion 3 of the reflector 4, and, by means of inclined mirrors 5, 7, 9 and lenses 6, 8, produce an image 10 on a screen 11 at the front of the lamp casing 12. Similarly an image 18 of the side of the carbons is formed on the same screen 11 by means of inclined mirrors 15, 17 and lenses 14, 16. The mirror 7 reflects the rays along under the cover of the lamp casing, whilst the mirror 15 reflects the rays between the double walls 19, 20 of the lamp casing. The mirror 5 and the lenses 6, 14 may be fixedly connected to the mounting of the reflector 4, and an image of the picture window may be marked on the screen 11. By this means the are and the reflector 4 may be positioned correctly with respect to the actual picture window.
