Abstract
430,263. Divisional bottles, ampoules, and cartridges. BARTON, C. W., 37, Madison Avenue, New York, U.S.A. Dec. 22, 1933, No. 36170. Convention date, Dec. 22, 1932. [Class 125 (i)] [See also Group VI] A divisional bottle &c. 1 of the type intended for containing proper proportions of emulsions, and solutions for mixing shortly before use, and adapted for the preparation of sterilized unstable solutions therein is closed by a plug 2 having an axial recess 4 closed by a disc 5. A solid slidable plug 3 closes the other end of the bottle &c. When a bottle or cartridge is inserted in a hypodermic syringe 7 having a cartridge piercing canula 9, a plunger or a rod 10 is secured to the plug 3 which acts as a piston for expelling the contents. The piercing means may be formed integrally with the seal in the cavity 4, and the charge for the cavity may be moulded to fit. The piercing means may also comprise a cylindrical body with lateral openings. The disc 5 may be formed as a ring with a membrane stretched thereon or the membrane may be secured directly to the cavity. A capsule like closure having a central aperture exposing a piercable disc may replace the plug 2.
