Abstract

Shaving and like toilet preparations are obtained by heating together a suitable fatty acid and suitable sulphonated oil or oils; glycerine, water, disinfectant, and perfume may be added. For example, 10 lb. of stearic acid and 10 lb. of sulphonated cod oil are heated together until the mass is fluid or semi-fluid; on cooling a substantially solid shaving preparation is produced. There may be added 2,5 lb. of glycerine, or 2,0 lb. of glycerine and 30 lb. of water.
