Abstract
428,802. Making electric incandescent lamps. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London, and DUDDING, B. P., c/o General Electric Co., Wembley, Middlesex. Dec. 19, 1933, No. 35735. [Class 39 (ii)] In sealing-off electric incandescent lamps provided with a highly concentrated filament and an envelope filled with gas at a pressure exceeding atmospheric the sealing-off tube is compressed between the jaws of a clamp which are heated so as to soften the tube by their contact with it. The pressure of the jaws is maintained after the tube has collapsed, to enable them to be cooled until the tube is sufficiently cool to withstand the internal pressure. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 406,185.
