Abstract
427,157. Mixing &c. mills. SOC. OF CHEMICAL INDUSTRY IN BASLE, Basle, Switzerland. Aug. 7, 1934, Nos. 22848 and 22849. Convention dates, Aug. 4, 1933 and June 3, 1934. [Classes 59 and 86] In a grinding and mixing mill comprising a rotary drum, a discharge conveyer is mounted in a cavity in the wall; the conveyer may be arranged to be driven during the rotation of the drum to effect a mixing action, as well as when the drum is at rest to effect discharge. In the form shown, the conveyer is in the form of a worm 12, and the trough in which it is carried is in communication with the drum through bars 10; the worm may be replaced by inclined paddles. The drum, which may be furnished with grinding-bodies 11, is rotated by gearing 5 and the worm by a chain 23 driven from a gear 24 which may be held stationary during the rotation of the drum, or may be driven by a pulley 25. The trough is furnished with a central discharge closed by a cover 15.
