[Class 83 (iii)] In a horizontal boring, milling, &c., machine having an axially adjustable spindle mounted in a vertically movable headstock, a steady bar, disposed parallel to the boring bar, is provided between the headstock and an auxiliary slide, vertically adjustable in unison with the headstock, and connecting links between said steady bar and boring bar support the latter during working. The connecting links j are carried by the steady bar e arranged parallel to the tool bar c, and supported in the headstock d, at one end, and in the auxiliary slide f at the other end.
