423,508. Television. BANKS, G. B., COLLIER, T. W., and BAIRD TELEVISION, Ltd., 133, Long Acre, London. Aug. 1, 1933, No. 21635. [Class 40 (iii)] Dirt is excluded from the apertures of a scanning-device 12 by a protective envelope 2 which rotates with the scanning-device. Light passes to the apertures through transparent windows 11, which are so sunk in the material of the envelope that they do not spin off under centrifugal force. The short cylindrical envelope is mounted concentrically over the scanning-disc, and is made of two discs with their edges 21, 23 spun or moulded to overlap. In the case of an apertured scanning-drum, the windows are in the curved surface of the cylindrical envelope.
