Convention date, Feb. 24, 1933. [Class 56] Relates to light filters, particularly bulbs for electric lamps, made from glass which contains neodymium, or other rare earth having similar absorptive properties. According to the invention, the glass also contains light-scattering material, so that the distance traversed by the light passing through the glass is increased, and the quantity of neodymium or the like required to obtain a particular absorptive effect is reduced. Suitable scattering - materials are cryolite, calcium fluoride, or sodium silicofluoride.
