[Classes 103 (vi), 108 (ii), and 108 (iii)] In a spring suspension system for the wheels or axles of a rail or road vehicle of the kind in which the spring reaction automatically adapts itself to the load through the medium of a cam member, a lever f having a cam surface k abutting against a plate h secured to the vehicle body is connected at one end g to the centre of a semi-elliptic axle or like spring a and at another point e to one end of the spring, the remote end of the latter being pivotally attached at d to the vehicle body. Lateral displacement of the lever f is prevented by a guide i.
