[Class 40 (v)] A volume - control system for push-pull amplifiers comprises an impedance 8, 9, 10, (shown as resistances) the two outer parts 8, 10, being matched and small compared with the middle section 9 which is variable. In another embodiment, Fig. 2, (not shown), the valves 1, 2, are resistance-coupled and the impedances are condensers; grid bias for valves 6, 7, is then obtained through a centre-tapped resistance, connected across the middle condenser.
