Abstract

418,908. Building-slabs. MORRISON, C. B., 26, Brockley Road, Chiswick, London. May 9, 1933, No. 13405. [Class 87 (i).] Large building-slabs are made of ferro-concrete about twenty feet high, five feet wide, and one foot thick, with teeth or projections F on the long edges to interlock with the spaces G on the next slab, and with holes A through the teeth to receive locking columns B of metal or concrete. These columns take the weight of the roof. One tooth about eight feet from the base is replaced by a cantilever block H made in two parts and bolted on the column to carry an upper floor. The slabs are reinforced by vertical bars D and helical winding E, and have weight - reducing apertures C and grooves K to engage top and bottom girders. Spaces for doors and windows may be left in the slabs. The slabs may also be used for floors and roofs, the teeth being on two, three, or four edges as required.
