Abstract

417,438. Bobbins &c. ENGLISH SEWING COTTON CO., Ltd., Arkwright House, Parsonage Gardens, Manchester.-(Kerr, R. C. ; 260, West Broadway, New York, U.S.A.) May 16, 1934, No. 14737. [Class 120 (iii).] A thread cop comprises a core 2 having its outer surface tapering towards one end thereof, a head 4 on the other end having its inner surface tapering towards the surface of the core, and a mass of thread 6 universally wound and comprising layers of thread of uniform length, the thread mass at one end engaging the tapering surface of the head 4, its outer faces being parallel to such tapering surface and to the tapering core 2. The upper end of the core 2 may taper out slightly, to prevent the end of the thread package from moving axially ; portions of the core 2 may also be roughened.
