Abstract
417,422. Inertia switches. SLEBOS, D., 45, Paulus Buysstraat, The Hague. Dec. 13, 1933, No. 35123. Convention date, Dec. 16, 1932. [Class 38 (v).] A safety switch for disconnecting both the battery and the dynamo from the body of the car in the event of collision, comprises a mass A mounted on a tube B fixed to an egg-shaped member C which, in the position shown, engages a button D to retain a contact M in engagement with contacts J, K and L against the action of a spring F. The contact J is connected to the body of the car while contacts K, Y, L are connected respectively to the dynamo and battery. On collision the mass A moves into a position such as is shown in broken lines and releases the button D and so isolates the battery and dynamo. A rod O passing through the tube B is also released and moves axially due to a spring P and thus prevents the return of the tube B. To reset, a handle Q is pulled and the parts replaced in the full line position.
