[Class 110 (ii).] In compressors of the sliding - vane type, pairs of thrust rods f are placed between each pair of vanes b and holes h, of greater diameter than the rods, are provided in the shaft d. The vanes may bear centrally on the ends of the rods, or to one side as shown. Packing may be placed between the rods and the shaft in the holes h. The middle portions of the rods may be of smaller diameter than the ends.
