Abstract
417,097. Sparking-plugs. CHAMPION SPARK PLUG CO., Upton Avenue, Toledo, Ohio, U.S.A. March 3, 1934, No. 6868. Cenvention date, Jan. 25. [Class 7 (iv).] The pocket between the insulator and casing is rendered gas tight by soapstone 20, powdered aluminium 21, melted in situ, preferably electrically, and a covering washer of copper 22. Granular material, not necessarily metallic, may be mixed with the aluminium. The insulator 14 may be in two portions, the joint being surrounded by the soapstone, and the upper portion having a shoulder on which the securing material is pressed.
