[Class 103 (i).] In an internalexpanding brake for vehicles in which the brake band or shoes are expanded into the operative position by a cam or lever, both ends of the band 4 or of the jointed arcuate shoes are free, one abutting against the actuating cam 11 or lever and the other abutting against and pivoting in a recess 10 in a stop 9. When released, the brake band or shoes automatically contacts on to internal pins 8 or the like. Specification 278,525, [Class 103 (i)], is referred to.
