Abstract
415,270. Sewing-machines. BUCHER, H. E., 15, Rudigerstrasse, Zurich, Switzerland. Sept. 7, 1933, No. 24829. Convention date, Sept. 10, 1932. [Class 112.] Seams.-The fastening stitching of a stitch covered seam penetrates one fabric at its edge and the other at some distance therefrom. Stitch forming devices ; multiple-needle machines.-The needle 36 is in advance of the needles 40, 41 and its thread coacts with the thread of a looper 42 to form a centre line of chain stitching. The needles 40, 41 coact with the thread of a second looper to form the covering stitching. In a modification all the needles are in one plane and coact with one looper thread. Trimming : work - guides. - The fabric edges are fed through a channel 9. The edge 7 is folded and both edges are trimmed by a knife adjustably mounted on the feed dog 43. In a modification a knife 15 is mounted on the loops shaft and coacts with a fixed knife 28.
