Abstract
An accelerator of vulcanization consists of a mixture of a mercapto arylene thiazole, or a disulphide of an arylene thiazole, and a neutral salt of oxalic acid and an amine having the general formula <FORM:0414949/V/1> where R1 and R2 are hydrogen or alkyl radicals which may have an alcoholic function. Specified amines are mono ethanol amine, diethanolamine, butanolamine, propanolamine, methylpropanolamine. These oxalates react only at vulcanizing temperature to form ultra accelerators with the thiazole, and so minimize risk of scorching. The hydrogen atoms of the benzene nucleus of the thiazole may be substituted, e.g. by Cl, NO2, or an alkyl radical. Examples of suitable mixes are given.
