Abstract
412,212. Letter-boxes. SANSOME, R. D., 12, Bibury Road, Hall Green, Birmingham, and PILKINGTON, W., Thornlea, Birming- ham Road, Wylde Green, both in Warwickshire. Dec. 19, 1932, No. 36000. [Class 18.] A letter-box plate 10, Fig. 4, is die-cast on to a decorative or non-corrosive plate 11, for instance of stainless steel, having flanges 12, 13 and slotted, serrated or otherwise bent portions 14 to key with the cast metal. A hole may be made in the plate 11 so that the metal may flow through and form a projection 37 to be struck by the knocker. Gaps 20 may be made in the flange 13 to correspond to the gate of the mould which has recesses to form lugs 19, Fig. 2, for attaching the hinged flap. This and the knocker K may be made in the same way, pegs 27, Fig. 8, being used to hold front plate 21 in the mould if the back plate is to be thicker than the flanges 12, 13. Specification 399,348, [Group XXV], is referred to.
