Abstract

410,976. Carpet sweepers. ROBINSON, F., and BETTS, C. I., Hart Street, Maidstone. June 8, 1933, No. 16472. [Class 138 (i).] The floor wheels 2 of a carpet-sweeper are mounted on rods 1 which are bent as shown by the portions 1<a> and 1<b>, so that they lie closely against the inner walls of the casing 4 and thus avoid the dust thrown into the dust pans. The rods pass through slots 3 in the ends of the casing and are engaged by springs 6 which press the wheels against the brush roller 8. The portions 1<b> of the rods are supported by springs 5 or resilient arms, and their downward movement is limited by bars 11.
