Abstract
409,207. Boxes. SHARPLIN, W. J., Jevington, Cranley Gardens, Muswell Hill, London. Oct. 9, 1933, No. 27780. [Class 18.] In a box having a lid with depending lips slidingly engaging external ledges on the body, the upper surfaces of the ledges 2 on the body 1 are flush with the top thereof ; the under surfaces 9 are bevelled downwards and inwards to the sides 1<a> and the lips 8 on the lid 6 are undercut to engage the ledges. The ledges 2 stop short a small distance from the ends 3, 4 of the box and the ends of the ledges are bevelled off in a longitudinal direction ; one end of the lid has a lip 7 in continuation of the lips 8 to engage the end 3 of the body and the opposite end of the body is provided with a ledge 5 to simulate the lip 7. The box is preferably formed by pressure moulding from a powdered synthetic resin or similar material ; it may be of rounded or other shape in plan or with splayed or curved sides or ends or the sides or ends may be shaped in a series of flats in prismatic form and the bottom may be other than flat.
