407,823. Television; cathode - ray tubes. ARDENNE, M. VON, 19, Jungfernstieg, Lichterfelde, Berlin. March 2, 1933, No. 6314. Convention date, March 7, 1932. Drawings to Specification. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (iii).] Rectangular pictures are produced in television receivers by using a cathode-ray tube having pairs of ray-deflecting plates of different sensitiveness supplied with line and picture deflecting potentials of equal amplitude. The pairs of plates may be of different spacing or length and may operate at different points ; one pair may be 5 mm. apart and the other pair 8 mm. apart. The base of the tube is arranged so that the tube can be inserted into its mounting in one position only.
