Abstract

407,150. Bat handles. BUNTINE, W. S., 183, Boundary Road, North Melbourne, Australia. Nov. 30, 1932, No. 33890. [Class 132 (ii).] The handle H of a cricket bat comprises a central rubber core C having radially extending integral ribs R, between which are secured cane strips A of truncated sector shape, the fibres of the grain being concentric on a transverse cross-section of the cane strips. A wood dowel pin CW forms a reinforcing core in the wedge W of the handle H, and abuts against the lower end of the core C. The handle H is strung or sheathed to bind the sectors A to the core C.
