Abstract
406,371. Grease guns. ARO EQUIPMENT CORPORATION, Bryan, Ohio, U.S.A. Aug. 26, 1932, No. 23950. Convention date, Oct. 26, 1931. [Class 102 (i).] A grease gun comprises automatically reciprocating pneumatic impact means for forcing grease through a check valve. Air for actuating the device is admitted through a valve 55 opened by a trigger 54, and passing to an intake port 50 actuates a stepped piston 42, 44. Air behind the piston 44 exhausts through its bore 57 and ports 56 to an outlet 28 regulated to control the stroke ; at the end of the backward stroke air passes from the intake through the ports 56, which are then out of communication with the outlet, to the back of the piston and reverses the stroke. The pistons actuate a grease plunger 40 drawing from a supply chamber 30 and forcing through a check valve 35, hose 65 and valved fitting. An air release valve 33 on the supply chamber 30 is opened during filling of the chamber, and a release valve 37 is opened for disconnection of the hose from the fitting.
