Abstract

404,987. Venturi apparatus. KENT, Ltd., G., and KENT, Sir W. G., 199, High Holborn, London. July 26, 1932, No. 21090. [Class 69 (i).] A Venturi section for a pipe line or channel 1, Fig. 2, having a curved invert, is of curved configuration corresponding with that of the pipe line &c. at its bottom where it joins the pipe line &c. and has vertical sides ; it converges to the throat without rise in the level of its bottom, but with a correspondingly increased invert curvature, and is connected to a float chamber by a pipe 13. Where the downstream pipe line 15, Fig. 5, is considerably steeper than the upstream line, the sides of the Venturi section converge in two stages.
