404,806. Binders for sheets &c. DRAEGER FRERES, 46, Rue de Bagneux, Grand Montrouge, Seine, France. Jan. 12, 1933, Nos. 1054 and 1055. Convention dates, Jan. 19, 1932 and Nov. 23, 1932. [Classes 16 and 146 (i).] In a binding arrangement for sheets and leaflets of the type in which a comb-shaped element, which remains visible from outside the set of sheets &c., is provided with teeth on one or both sides of a plain band, the teeth being curved to form loops, the ends of the teeth on one side of the band overlap and engage with the inner surface of the teeth on the other side of the band, or with the free edge of the band. The comb 2, Fig. 2, is cut from celluloid or the like and after the sheets &c. have been threaded on the loops, which may be circular, oval or polygonal, and may be sprung open by means of a mandrel or otherwise, for the purpose, the ends of the teeth 1, are cemented together with acetone or a like solvent. If the comb-shaped element 11, Fig. 4, has only one row of teeth, they engage the inner surface of the edge 13 of the comb, and may be cemented in place or left free. The portions 2, 11 forming the visible backs of the bindings may be coloured, receive an inscription, or may be otherwise decorated.
