Abstract
404,495. Centrifugal gas cleaners. KAESLING, L., 27, Speyerstrasse, Berlin. March 15, 1933, No. 7914. Convention date, March 15, 1932. [Class 23.] A soot separator for chimneys comprises a substantially closed casing 1 housing a vertical tube 3 bent into a corrugated shape and having in the outer wall at the crests of the corrugations slots 4, 41, 4<11> through which the soot passes due to centrifugal force. Viewed in the direction of flow of the gases, the upper edges of the slots are bent inwards and the lower edges outwards. The upper end of the tube 3 is provided with a fan 6 mounted on a partition 5 across the casing 1 and rotated either by the ascending gases or by separate driving means. The lower end of the casing forms a collecting chamber for the soot.
