403,901. Piston rings. BANKS, W. J., 1, Britannia Buildings, Cumberland Basin, Bristol. July 17, 1933, No. 20139. [Class 122 (i).] A carrier ring 13 provided with a junk ring 14 is fitted with a small clearance in a groove 12 in a piston 11 provided with a junk ring 16. Split packing rings 18 are fitted in the carrier ring and are spread apart by wedges 21 separated by springs 20.
