Abstract
403,828. Gravity-separation-apparatus. ZOLLINGER, J., 33, Green Grove Road, Wayside, New Jersey, U.S.A. Feb. 13, 1933, No. 4377. Convention date, June 2, 1932. [Class 46.] Solid matter is removed from a settling-tank by means of an inclined scoop which moves so that the matter collected on the lower end is carried upward along the scoop for removal from the upper end. The Figures show apparatus comprising six scoops 28 depending from apertures in a concave partition 25 connected to a central hub 26 supported on a rotating shaft 16. The solid matter moving upward along the scoops on to the partition 25 is directed by a stationary stripper 36 on to a shoot 39. The material is supplied to the tank through an inlet 40 and the liquid leaves through an outlet 41, arranged so that the liquid level in the tank is below the tops of the scoops 28.
