Abstract
Rubber is coloured by incorporation into the mix of water insoluble disazo-dyestuffs free from nitro groups and corresponding to the general formula <FORM:0402920/IV/1> where X represents hydrogen or a monovalent substituent such as halogen, alkyl, or alkoxy, R represents a coupling component and Y represents a bridge containing oxygen such as -O-; -CO-; -NH . CO-; -NH-CO-NH-; -SO2-; or -NH SO2-. Dyestuffs of the above general formula are obtained by tetrazotising diamino compounds having the general formula <PICT:0402920/IV/1> and coupling with coupling components of which there are mentioned acetoacetic and arylides, pyrazolones, b -naphthol and its derivatives such as 2 : 3 hydroxy-naphthoic arylides, or hydroxycarbazoles. The Provisional Specification describes also the colourings of masses capable of being moulded other than rubber.ALSO:Rubber is coloured by incorporation into the mix of water insoluble disazo-dyestuffs free from nitro groups and corresponding to the general formula <FORM:0402920/V/1> where X represents hydrogen or a monovalent substituent such as halogen, alkyl, or alkoxy. R represents a coupling component, and Y represents a bridge containing oxygen such as -O-;-C1=O;-NH.CO-;-NH-CO.NH-;-SO2-; or -NH-SO2-; dyestuffs of the above general formula are obtained by tetrazotising diamino compounds having the general formula <FORM:0402920/V/2> and coupling with coupling components of which there are mentioned acetoacetic acid arylides, pyrazolones, b -naphthol and its derivatives such as 2 : 3 hydroxynaphthoic arylides, or hydroxycarbazoles. The Provisional Specification describes also the colouring of masses capable of being moulded other than rubber.
