Abstract

402,210. Accumulators. CHLORIDE ELECTRICAL STORAGE CO., Ltd., and DEAN, H., Clifton Junction, near Manchester. Sept. 3, 1932, No. 24623. [Class 53.] An accumulator is provided with a spray arresting plate j, k which rests on ledges formed in the bus bars c which rest on the container e as shown in Fig. 1 and carry the terminals f. The plates are further supported on their sides opposite their respective bus bars by apertured ebonite bars i which engage with lugs g projecting from one set of plates and rest on lugs h on the other set. The spray arresting plate is made in two parts, the smaller part k having a knob k<1> to enable it to be removed for taking hydrometer readings and for topping up the accumulator. Fig. 4 shows a modification in which the accumulator is provided with a lead lined wood container. Each plate is supported by two lugs g, h which rest on ebonite combs o supported by glass plates p standing on lead feet q. Wood or ebonite strips s may be placed behind the plates p. As shown in Fig. 5 draught screens r may be provided at opposite sides of the plates j, k.
