[Class 100 (iv).] Letter spacing mechanism.-The key - levers 7 are pivoted on a shaft 6 and have depend - ingtails 8 for operat - ing a universal bar 5 suspended by arms 9 from the shaft. The universal bar may be connected by links 3 and arms 2 to a rock-shaft 1 for operating the letter-spacing, ink-ribbon, and other mechanisms.
