Abstract
400,992. Horseshoes. PHILLIPS RUBBER SOLES, Ltd. and EYLES, G. F., 142, Old Street, Finsbury, London. May 6, 1932, No. 13106. [Class 67.] In a composite shoe comprising a metal frame embedded in rubber or like material, the frame is made up of two plates 1, 2 which are provided with slots 6, 7 to facilitate bending of the completed shoe, the slots of one plate lying between the slots of the other. Slots may also be formed in the inner edges of the plates. The long and short projections 3, 4 on the upper plate 1 are bent around the lower plate 2 in the manner shown in Figs. 3, 5, and are clinched if desired. The layer of rubber 5a above the plate 1 is united with the pad 5 by means of apertures 2a, 6a in the plates. The frame and pad may be slightly convex at the toe, the frame being strengthened by means of a toe-clip 8, Fig. 4, and a transverse heel plate may be provided to hold the limbs in position. Nailholes 11 in the plate 1 coincide with holes 7a at the ends of the slots 7 in the plate 2.
