Abstract
Oxide layers on aluminium or aluminium alloys are impregnated with varnishes &c., e.g. cellulose lacquers, lacquers similar to " Bake-lite," linseed oil, or mixtures of these substances. The impregnation may be effected by dipping the freshly formed oxide layer in a solution of the lacquer or in linseed oils &c., or by coating it with the impregnating substance and then, if necessary, baking at a temperature of from 110-200 DEG C. for \ba1/4\be-5 hours.ALSO:Oxide layers on aluminium or aluminium alloys are impregnated with varnishes &c., e.g. cellulose lacquers, lacquers similar to "Bakelite," linseed oil, or mixtures of these substances.
