400,127. Envelopes &c. VOGEL, M., 315, Mainzerlandstrasse, Frankfort-on-Main, Germany. May 23, 1933, No. 14916. Convention date, May 23, 1932. [Class 146 (ii).] In an envelope or the like of the kind having on a flap b and a counter-flap e adhesive surfaces d, f which adhere to like surfaces and not to paper or the like, and need no previous moistening, the flaps b, e are adapted to have an outward pivotal movement and to be folded at the edge of the opening by a movement in the same direction on to the back or front of the envelope with the adhesive surfaces d, f arranged on the inside and thereby covered for protecting the adhesive surfaces against dust, and for preventing the adhesive surfaces of adjacent envelopes from coming into contact when stacked. For stacking or printing, the counter-flap e is folded downwards with the adhesive surface f towards the back a<2>, and the flap b with the adhesive surface d towards the inside of the front a<1> of the envelope. For sealing, the flap e is turned upwardly and the flap b folded over it so that the adhesive surfaces meet. In a modification the flaps b, e have adhesive on their opposite faces and for stacking or printing purposes the flap b is folded in the opposite direction on to the front a<1>, and the flap e is turned upwardly on to the inside of the front a<1>; for sealing the envelope the flap b is turned on to the inside of the front a<1>, and the flap e is folded over it.
