Abstract

400,080. Filters. BOSCH AKT.-GES., R., 4, Militõrstrasse, Stuttgart, Germany. March 18, 1933, No. 8245. Convention date, April 1, 1932. [Class 46.] A filter, suitable for the treatment of fuel for internalcombustion engines, has a casing 1, a cover 2 with an inlet passage 5 and an outlet passage 6, a downwardly projecting pipe 9 connected to the passage 6, and an air-release valve 12. Liquid supplied through the passage 5 passes inwardly through one or more cylindrical filtering- elements 4. The arrangement is such that after the supply of liquid to the casing has been cut off, liquid in the casing will be drawn off as long as the liquid level is above the lower end of the pipe 9. There may be an additional airrelease passage 10 connected to the passage 6.
