Abstract
398,610. Coke ovens. KOPPERS CO. OF DELAWARE, Koppers Building, Pittsburg, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Ackeren, J. van; Koppers Building, Pittsburg, U.S.A.) June 8, 1932, No. 16188. Convention date, June 8, 1931. [Classes 51 (i) and 51 (ii).] In a vertically-flued coke oven in which a portion of the products of combustion is recirculated through the heating-flues, the return passages 29 open at their lower ends into the ducts 26 through which the combustible mixture, or, in the case of rich gas firing, the air for combustion, is supplied. The ports 26 are preferably of Venturi form. The invention is more particularly applicable to ovens of the kind described in Specification 171,117, [Class 51 (ii), Furnaces and kilns for applying &c.].
