398,217. Destroying insects; feeding- appliances for animals. DAY, E. G., The Wee Cot, Burleigh, Stroud, Gloucestershire. March 4, 1932, No. 6558. [Classes 5 (i) and 5 (ii).] A device for enticing slugs, snails, and other garden pests comprises a continuous plate-like base 1 having an integral or separate baitreceiving receptacle 3, a removable cover-plate 2 above said baseplate and projections 4, 5 on each of said plates, said projections abutting against each other and serving to space the cover-plate 2 from the baseplate 1 so as to provide a shallow space between the two plates to enable the slugs or other pests to have free access to the bait. The device may be constructed of wood, Fig. 2, metal, Fig. 3, pottery, concrete, &c., Fig. 4, the projections comprising wooden strips nailed to the plates, bosses stamped therefrom or protuberances moulded therewith. The device may carry an ornamental figure.
