Abstract
398,046. Foam separators. JANTZEN, E., 4, Gabelsbergstrasse, Hamburg, Germany. Oct. 22, 1932, No. 29606. Convention date, Oct. 27, 1931. [Class 14 (ii).] Foam is separated from fermenting or boiling liquids by means of a rapidly rotating member 10 of the beater type located immediately above the foam, in a container 3, and cooperating with a jacket or mantle 6 at a small distance therefrom. The member 10 may be subdivided by concentrical walls, :n which case the jacket 6 might be omitted, the walls acting as jackets. The foam is thrown against the walls or jacket, separated into liquid and gas and the liquid returns to the fermenting vat &c. A disc 26 deflects any oil from the bearings away from the rotating member 10.
