Abstract
397,632. Spectacles &c. MORRIS, A. J., 72, Leather Lane, London. June 10, 1932, No. 16454. [Class 97 (i).] A folding spectacle frame comprises side members 16 pivoted to rims 10, and a bridgepiece 11 pivoted about two substantially parallel axes to the rims, the width of the bridge-piece being substantially equal to that of the wearer's nose and its height being substantially equal to its width. The rims 10 are so shaped that they can be made to lie close to, or in contact with, the face. The rims are pear-shaped and are provided with lugs 12 to receive the bridge pivots 13 and with lugs 15 for the members 16. The parts 17 of the rims may be widened so as more closely to conform to the wearer's cheekbones while leaving greater clearance between the eyes and the lenses. The lenses 18 are domed so as to clear the eyelashes. The lower part 14 of the bridge is shaped to conform to the nose and may be thickened to provide an increased bearing surface. The frame is primarily intended for use with tinted glasses &c. to serve as goggles for protection against glare.
