Nov. 1, 1932, No. 30778. Convention date, Nov. 3, 1931. [Class 38 (v).] In switches in which an extinguishing chamber a is located within an outer chamber b, ejection of liquid from the latter on switching-on is prevented by providing the aperture d through which the movable contact passes with a resilient annular packing. This may comprise a helical spring ring g, or a rubber annulus h coated with metal; which, as shown at i in Fig. 2, is so divided as not to affect the elasticity of the rubber. Instead of a groove f, a recess may be provided, together with a cover plate for holding the packing in place therein.
