Abstract
396,143. Valve amplifying circuits. BAGGALLY, W., 7, Sillwood Place, Brighton. March 1, 1932, No. 6213. [Class 40 (v).] In an amplifying valve operated so that the grid attains positive values and grid current flows distortion is prevented by varying the voltage of a compensating valve 9 in dependance on changes in the resistance of the grid-cathode path of the valve 1 and arranging the compensating valve to apply compensating voltages to the grid of the valve 1. The Figure shows the input transformer 5 connected between the grids of the valves through blocking condenser 7 which may be dispensed with if the valves operate with the same grid biasing voltage. The grid of the valve 1 is biased through a choke 11 of low ohmic resistance while the compensating valve 9 is biased through a grid leak' 12. A number of valves may be connected in parallel and the compensating voltage derived from single auxiliary valve.
