Abstract
395,698. Grease-guns. LUBRICATION CORPORATION, 401, Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana, U.S.A. Jan. 18, 1932, No. 1424. Convention date, Jan. 19, 1931. [Class 102 (i).] A grease-gun comprises a high-pressure cylinder which engages an orifice in a cartridge forming the lowpressure cylinder. The highpressure cylinder 14, Fig. 1, slides through a cap 16, which engages the end of a cartridge 26 by bayonet joints 22. The end of the cartridge is closed by a lowpressure piston 28, having an orifice closed by a flap 32. The piston 28 is formed with a packing flange 30. In use the flap 32 is forced back and the orifice is engaged by the bevelled end 34 of the highpressure cylinder. In a modification the discharge orifice is formed in the end of the cartridge, which is provided with a follow-up piston. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also a modification in which the cap 16 is replaced by a cylinder, enclosing the cartridge. In a further modification, Fig. 4 (Cancelled), the high-pressure cylinder engages an orifice in one end of a cartridge 226, inserted in an outer casing 216. The follow-up piston 228 can be acted on by a piston 44 operated by a rod 40. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
