Abstract
394,620. High-tension switches. INTERNATIONAL GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Inc., 120, Broadway, New York, U.S.A. -(Assignees of Allgemeine Elektricitõts- Ges.; 2, Friedrich Karl-Ufer, Berlin.) Feb. 20, 1933, No. 5191. Convention date, Feb. 18, 1932. [Class 38 (v).] Pneumatic blow-outs; fluidactuation; locking and unlocking.-To ensure simultaneous operation of a plurality of compressed gas-operated circuit-breakers, the cylinders a<1>, a2 thereof are interconnected by a pipe m, through the intermediary of two-position valves n<1>, n2, such that if the pressure in one cylinder, say a<1>, is insufficient to withdraw the locking pawl f<1> and open the switch, the spring o<1> maintains the valve n<1> on its upper seating and places the other switch cylinder a<2> in communication with the outer air over the pipe m. With normal pressure supplied, preferably from a common source and through simultaneouslyoperated valves, to both pipes d<1>, d<2>, both valves n<1>, n<2> will be moved to their lower seatings and the pawls f<1>, f<2> moved aside to allow both switches to be opened. By arranging the pipe m &c. on the other side of the operating pistons c<1>, c<2>, the invention can be applied to the closing of the switches.
