Abstract

394,146. Cutting sandwiches. TWYNAM, M. O., Teeswold, Coatham Road, Redcar, Yorkshire. July 16, 1932, No. 20144. [Class 5 (i).] A device for pressing and cutting sandwiches comprises a square or rectangular block a provided with a handle a<1> for pressing the sandwiches and with a correspondingly shaped detachable steel frame c having depending vertical blades or knives d<3> .. d<6> all round the outside edges thereof to remove the outside crusts of the sandwiches. Inner vertical blades or knives d<1>, d<2> may be provided on the frame disposed as required for cutting up the sandwiches into portions shaped as desired. The frame may be provided with two channel members cl for slidably receiving the block and so effecting the detachable connection of the frame to the block, and a curved finger plate b may be provided to allow the block to be readily manipulated in the channels. In use the sandwiches are first pressed by means of the block, the frame carrying the knives is then slipped on to the block and the sandwiches trimmed and cut.
