Abstract
393,235. Bottle stoppers. TARTAGLIA, C. B., 82, Marquez del Duero Street, Barcelona, Spain. Feb. 9, 1933, No. 3954. [Class 125 (iii).] A reseal device for bottles &c., for use after removal of " crown corks," comprises a split ring or band carrying a sealing disc and having its upper and lower edges free to be contracted by a lever pivoted on the band, means being provided on the ring or band to cause the sealing disc to be pressed on to its seating simultaneously with the contraction of the ring or band. As shown, the lower edge of the ring 8 is provided with inwardly-projecting teeth 9 which, when a lever 2 pivoted on a pin 4 passing through two outwardly-extending arms 7 on the ring is rotated in the direction of the arrow, are pressed against the bottle &c. bead by the contraction of the ring consequent upon the sliding of two cam surfaces 5 on the lever 2 along the outer curved surfaces of the arms 7. The teeth 9 thus slide under the bead and teeth 14 on the upper edge of the ring press an elastic disc 12 and a metal disc 13 down on the bottle &c. mouth. As shown, the handle 1 of the lever 2 is shaped as a " crown cork " remover.
