Abstract

392,481. Vacuum-sealed tins &c. KNIGHT, E. J. J., Knowles, Small Dole, Sussex. Dec. 21, 1932, No. 36235. [Class 66.] Vacuum-sealed tins or like containers are provided with means for breaking the seal and mechanically displacing the closure intact. The means may comprise a cam plate 7 pivotally mounted on the body part and adapted toengage the edge of the cover flange 6, as in the case of the cylindrical tin shown in Fig. 1, ormay consist of a lever 11 integral with a manipulating piece 12 pivoted to the flange of the cover and adapted to engage a rib 14 on the body portion, as in the rectangular container shown in Fig. 3.
